The Quality Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the system quality performance management and patient safety program. Aligns system quality improvement initiatives with the system strategic plan by collecting, analyzing, benchmarking, and disseminating data. Monitors data and trends to support the quality management program and compliance functions. Recommends and coaches through quality improvement processes.?
Acute - will support Quality functions at the ThedaCare Appleton & ThedaCare Neenah Regional Medical Centers.
Pre-Acute - will support the quality functions ThedaCare Physician Services and ThedaCare Service lines which include Cardiac, Orthopedics, Cancer, and Neuro/Spine.
Assesses, analyzes and supports organization's current status of regulatory compliance related to quality and patient safety with Federal and State regulations and reports findings promptly to achieve and maintain accreditation and certification status.
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to collect data, analyze benchmark, improve, and disseminate findings related to quality and patient safety in support of the system strategic plan.
Conducts concurrent and retrospective review to support core measures and external regulatory reporting requirements.
Responsible for maintaining documented standards of performance and communicating deviations from standards of quality improvement plans.
Supports and facilitates change consistent with organizational goals and objectives as they relate to quality improvement and patient safety.
Provides benchmarking data and identifies resources for benchmarking.
Conducts safety assessments and evaluates current workflows for compliance and makes recommendations as necessary.
Works in collaboration with the Risk Manager to monitor and follow up on safety reporting to facilitate required reporting and safety related improvements.
Systematically applies and educates health care team members on continuous quality improvement requirements and methodologies.
Required: BSN is required
Required: Valid WI RN License is required
Required: 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
Must be able to demonstrate leading others to problem solve, set/achieve goals, and sustain process improvement.
Exhibits leadership skills and assumes leadership role in areas of quality and patient safety serving as a resource to other members of the health care team
Builds constructive and effective relationships inside and outside the organization
Collaborates with providers, multiple disciplines, departments and division leaders to effectively and efficiently achieve desired outcomes
Adapts to the rapidly changing needs of the healthcare and regulatory environment, workflow, team and the organization
Demonstrates effective communication skills
Knowledge and appropriate escalation and coordination of all aspects of quality and patient safety events
Ability to facilitate and influence change as it relates to quality improvement
Knowledge of process Improvement methodologies
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines
Gives full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products; specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to use Outlook.
