The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) Quality Improvement (QI) Manager will be responsible for developing an ADH Quality Improvement Infrastructure plan, coordinating the development of a culture of Quality Improvement, and providing training and technical assistance in Quality Improvement to ADH staff.
With direction from the Office of the Chief Science Officer, the QI Manager will: 1) develop an ADH Quality Improvement Infrastructure plan and actively pursue additional resources and funding as needed to develop quality improvement capacity at ADH; 2) work along with the Performance Manager to maintain ADH’s public health accreditation; 3) assess and identify quality improvement opportunities and projects within ADH; 4) help ADH staff develop and implement quality improvement plans and implement a continuous quality improvement process; 5) help increase program interactions to address efficiency of use/leveraging of grant funds, to review obligation and expenditure patterns, budget redirection processes, carry-forward balances, and the amount of state and local dollars that are dedicated to achieving complementary program goals through quality improvement activities; 6) participate in Performance Improvement Training as necessary and assigned, in order to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position; 7) provide reports on quality improvement activities and measures at regular intervals, and as requested, to assist the ADH Office of the chief Science Officer in planning and decision making.
Prefer three years of work experience related to performance management or quality improvement, experience in writing or applying for grants, and excellent writing and communication skills. Occasional travel throughout the state, as well as travel to at least one out of state meeting for training each year will be required.
