The Quality/ Compliance Coordinator is responsible to the System Director of Quality and Infection Prevention. The role of this position is to coordinate and oversee the formal quality improvement activities for Good Shepherd Medical Center, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement processes. Monitors quality assessment and performance improvement activities and provides coordination, consultation, and assistance in pursuing quality goals. Monitors regulatory standards and CMS Conditions of Participation and provides coordination, consultation and assistance in ensuring accreditation is maintained. Coordination of regulatory reporting and maintenance of The Joint Commission application, notifications, and compliance reporting.
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent highly preferred
CPR required. CPHQ and/or HACP specialty certification or must obtain within 2 years.
Current RN license with the ability to practice in the state of Texas.
Graduate of a school of nursing required. Bachelor in Nursing/Science is preferred.
2 years' experience in quality or regulatory compliance to include at least 1 year responsible for compliance for JCAHO and/or other Accreditation agencies in an acute care setting preferred.
Experience with project management, leading PI teams, manging effecive team meetings.
Able to train others in PI methodology (PDCA, DMAIC, etc)

Ability to effectively communicate with patients and provide competent care as appropriate to the ages of patients served by this position.
