Responsible to the CEO for leadership and management of the overall organizations Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program, including but not limited to the clinical, operational, internal and external associates connected to our Hospice services and the board of directors; compliance with industry regulations, standards of practice and protected health information; Safety Management and Emergency Preparedness; and the Education related to these areas to promote and maintain the highest level of organizational excellence.
Development of programs in concert with clinical & operational leadership to identify, improve and monitor quality and compliance outcomes.
Manages organizational system to trend incidents and resolution of service failures; peer reviews; understands process and quality improvement.
Works with teams to develop and implement changes achieving improved measurable outcomes.
Audits, Investigates and acts on matters related to compliance, including designing and coordinating internal investigations in response to reports of problems and suspected abuse.
Leads committees within the organization and develop creative strategies resulting in measurable outcomes related to quality, performance improvement, compliance and safety programs.
Responsible for monitoring, implementation and evaluation of processes and programs to meet regulatory requirements and standards of practice. Assures compliance with current State and Federal regulations, and Hawaii Care Choices policies and procedures.
Ensures that there are processes in place to monitor and measure all activities related to performance improvement. Educates staff regarding performance improvement plan and involves staff in performance improvement activities.
Skill & Knowledge Requirements
Demonstrates excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend data in order to make improvements as well as compiling information to report to management team and/or to Board of Directors.
Understands HIPAA, OSHA, local State and Federal regulations as it applies to hospice.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Ability to work with a diverse team.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Advanced and efficient use of technology.
Ability to navigate electronic medical record data base
Education & Experience Requirements
Minimum of BSN degree.
RN licensure in the State of Hawaii.
Minimum of two (2) years management experience in healthcare industry with focus on project management and implementing/monitoring quality improvement plans.
Hospice experienced preferred.
Valid drivers license.
Monday through Friday during regular business hours with administrative call duties as scheduled.
