WittKieffer has been retained by the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the Food and Drug Administration, located in Washington D.C., to recruit the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation. This is a unique opportunity to lead a respected healthcare foundation established by the Congress to support the public health and safety mission of the FDA through private-public collaborations and to take the Foundation to a new level of significant accomplishments, impact and revenue growth.
Reagan-Udall Foundation was created by a non-partisan act of Congress to be an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization charged with advancing regulatory science to help the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advance its mission to modernize medical, veterinary, food, food ingredient, and cosmetic product development; accelerate innovation; and enhance product safety. The Foundation works to improve America's public health through public-private partnerships that facilitate innovation, foster the use of real-world evidence and identify modern tools and policies to keep pace with today's rapidly evolving science. The Foundation serves as a bridge, bringing together regulated industries, academia, patient advocacy, physician groups, and government to build collaboration, provide insight and take on modern public health challenges.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will ensure achievement of the Foundation's goals and execution of the Foundation's new strategic plan. Alongside the Board of Directors, the CEO will develop a vision to guide the future of the Foundation and establish the Foundation as the gold-standard for similar organizations nationally. The CEO will work closely with leadership at the FDA, including the Commissioner; be active in the Foundation's fundraising efforts; and build a high performing team. S/he will ensure the success of the organization's current flagship programs and activities as well as the development of programs aligned with the new strategic plan.
We seek a visible, engaging leader with a passion for public health and the mission of the FDA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of management experience in a nonprofit, academic, corporate, or governmental organization, preferably in life sciences. S/he will be a skilled communicator and collaborator with experience providing leadership in organizations with multiple, diverse constituencies. The ideal candidate will have successful experience with fundraising, be politically and financially savvy and possess deep knowledge of science policy and regulatory processes.
