Position Description: The University of Washington’s Department of Pharmacy invites applications for a part-time position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (50%) on a 12-month service period with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2020. This position is non?tenure track. The position will be in the MS in Biomedical Regulatory Affairs Program (BRAMS). BRAMS is a two-year, self-sustaining professional program that culminates in a practicum. BRAMS is offered jointly by the Department of Pharmacy and the University of Washington Continuum College in the evening to working professionals and full-time students.
The successful candidate will coordinate and supervise students’ practicum placements; serve as liaison between BRAMS and regional life sciences companies and organizations; identify, develop and maintain new placement sites as needed; outreach to regional medical products and life sciences companies and organizations to promote the practicum program and establish relationships for potential future practicums; evaluation of and feedback to students, including obtaining input from other program faculty; use appropriate technology for the practicum course; submitting course grades by deadline; and maintain practicum program data. Practicum faculty occasionally make presentations pertaining to the practicum program in evening courses and coordinate student presentations that often occur on Saturdays.
Graduate or professional degree.
Minimum of five years full?time of industry experience in medical products regulatory affairs (including clinical research and/or quality systems) in biologicals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and/or dietary supplements, preferably experience with companies in the Pacific NW.
Previous teaching experience.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
Strong record of professional achievements, including regulatory agency exposure and presentations at professional forums that are relevant to health products regulatory affairs.
Demonstrated organizational and managerial skills.
Prior experience in program assessment and familiarity with contemporary instructional technologies and methods is highly desired.
Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications.
