Senior Quality Analyst - Nursing and Patient Care Services Dana Farber Cancer Institute Boston, MA The Senior Quality Analyst supports regulatory and ANCC Magnet reporting requirements and data driven projects that require strong collaboration between Program Manager, Nursing Quality, Nurse Leaders and Institute partners, including HRIS, Clinical Operations and Business Analytics (COBA), Nursing informatics and Quality and Patient Safety. The Senior Quality Analyst’s work contributes to building sustainable infrastructures, processes and systems that increase the transparency, integrity and availability of nursing quality data. The Senior Data Analyst reports to the Executive Director of Clinical and Professional Development. Responsibilities: - Develop an in-depth understanding of Nursing Quality data and data structures as well as the ability to translate specifications into programming logic and create visualizations and reports.
- Lead new projects, function independently within a fast-paced environment, work on several different projects/tasks concurrently and serve as a data advisor to Nursing Quality efforts. Assignments will include complex data analysis projects that can be multi-disciplinary or interdepartmental. The analyst will collaborate closely with the COBA team to address data requirements for analytic reporting and interface requirements.
- Work with a variety of business intelligence tools (ex: relational databases, SQL, Excel, Tableau etc.) to access data, write queries, develop programming logic, run reports, manipulate, and analyze large datasets to meet the quality data needs of the department.
- Develops comprehensive quality assurance processes to ensure accurate and reliable data.
- Serve as a technical expert for compiling, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing data related to assigned projects.
- Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Qualifications: - Expertise in manipulating data, extracting desired information and performing data analysis
- Demonstrated knowledge of database design and programming
- Superior computer skills, i.e. MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and data mining techniques
- Working knowledge of business intelligence tools, i.e. Tableau
- Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

- Project management skills
- Comfort in learning new software tools
- Desire and ability to train and mentor team members and work in a team-oriented approach
- Bachelor of Science/Arts or equivalent in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or related field
- Master’s degree (MPH, MBA or other relevant field), preferred
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in data analytics, process improvement and quality, preferably in the health care industry. Exposure to Electronic Medical Records, Epic EMR preferred
