Overview This is a great opportunity to use your clinical healthcare experience in a consultative role helping hospitals improve patient safety and quality outcomes! Reporting to the Director, Statewide Hospital Quality Improvement Program, this full-time grant-funded position will provide project management, education, materials development and hospital/provider and/or practice support to various assigned quality improvement projects and initiatives. The expected duration of this contract is to September 17, 2024. Remote work would be a possibility.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Coordination of varied project plans on an organizational, unit or provider level • Conducts readiness and progress assessment for work plan development • Coaches, facilitate, and offer technical assistance to hospitals, practices, and/or providers. • Facilitates/tailors resources to support positive member outcomes • Researches evidence-based practices, best practices, tools, and expert faculty • Subject matter expert (SME) and lead on project topics and sub-tasks • Conducts research on evidence-based and best practice. • Coordination of program curriculum, events, meetings, and various activities • Demonstrates and provides education on quality improvement methodologies • Provides education and support related to culture, leadership, safety, no harm and other foundational process improvement structures and systems. • Provides written documentation and reports • Coordination of data management and analysis; hospital and project level • Employs and teaches quality improvement methodologies (ex. PDSA, TeamSTEPPS) • Adherence to budget, timeline, and deliverables
As a member of the Quality Advocacy, Research and Innovation (QARI) team, stays up to date on HANYS organizational and divisional priorities, goals and work plans. Is able to represent HANYS at all professional and member interactions, providing insight into HANYS support and resources and linking them to HANYS staff as appropriate. In addition, the PM will participate in HANYS’ meetings, webinars and projects as required and assigned.

Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in a health related field such as Nursing, Health Management or Industrial Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience for hospital project management work; and at least 2 years’ experience in a clinical practice setting and/or hospital for provider practice-related program management. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be substituted. • Proven track record as a leader in quality improvement/change management, patient safety, hospital and/or physician practice operations best practices and facilitation. • Demonstrated proficiency in establishing and maintaining key relationships • Strong project management and organizational skills • Ability to coach and facilitate to maximize the hospital/practice/provider success • Ability to problem-solve and mentor to provide effective problem resolution solutions • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to understand, apply, and educate on basic quality improvement statistics and reports • Flexibility to travel in the assigned area up to 3 days per week • Basic skills in Microsoft office, excel and technology systems for data and web conferencing.
